“T” Family Pictures in Longwood Gardens

I had a great time taking photos of the “T” family one hot summer day at Longwood Gardens – one of my favorite locations to take portraits!! It was such a scorcher that morning that the staff at Longwood were actually giving out free water! Thank goodness for these two beautiful, sweet children and their easy going temperaments.

Miss T & Mr T’s reward for being such good subjects was a jaunt around the cool water-play area of the children’s garden at Longwood.

Thank you to their mom for letting me spend so much time to make sure I got all of the photos we needed!!

Melissa & Will’s Engagement at Battery Park in Old New Castle – Delaware

I will be photographing Melissa and Will’s wedding this November, and they chose Old New Castle as the location for their engagement session. I love this little town so much because of the rich history surrounding so many of the buildings. This is the town where William Penn first landed in ‘The New World.’ In fact, the anniversary of his landing is right around the corner – October 27, 1682. Since I first moved to the Mid-Atlantic area around 11 years ago, Old New Castle has always been one of my favorite local treasures to explore.

One of my favorite parts of our day – perfect for Halloween – was this creepy decoration staring out onto the street below. Thanks to Melissa and Will for letting me indulge in a little of my macabre sense of humor.

I can’t wait to see how beautiful Melissa looks on her wedding day!!

Matt & Heather’s Family Portraits in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Last week I headed to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to take some family photos of Matt, Heather and their two beautiful daughters. After we each made about 10 loops around the main thoroughfare and found parking spots, the fun began! Since I’m based in northern Delaware, I do not get to take many photos on the southern Delaware beaches, so I enjoyed the change of scenery.

Family Pictures in Gibraltar Gardens – Delaware

When my daughter started school last fall, I was a bundle of nerves, but mostly excited and happy for her to experience new things. She is a very social little girl and loves to be around other children. I knew she would have fun making new friends and learning like a sponge, as children have a tendency to do. Little did I know that I too, would make a new friend at her school!

On one of the very first school days I met Crystal. I heard her mentioning that she was headed to the local gym to workout — which is where I was also going to kill some time while my daughter was in school. We ended up going together and were pretty much together every school day since, as we headed to the gym or park to exercise together.

This summer she and her family wrapped up a long chapter and moved away to begin what I know will be some of the most joyful moments of their lives. I will miss my “exercise buddy” this fall when my daughter starts school again, but mostly, I’ll really miss a great friend.

Pennsylvania Newborn and Children Portraits + New Logo!

Ch-ch-ch-chaaanges

It’s spring, the grass getting greener by the minute and the trees (well, at least one of the ones in my backyard) are getting buds. Soon, we’ll be seeing actual leaves on the trees here in Delaware. I can’t wait! Personally, I feel that you can’t beat a lovely leafy green backdrop for photos.

Spring has also sprung here on my own website and I’ve officially launched my new logo. This is my third rendition and hopefully my last for quite a while. I was pretty proud of my previous, self-created logo, but it just lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. My new logo was created by Krishna’s Creations and has some awesome qualities that make it more flexible for business use. For example – I really love the new watermark I was able to create using this logo (you can see it on the photos I’ve posted below).

More things that make me happy this spring: brand spankin’ new babies!!

I was very honored to travel to Pennsylvania and do the newborn portraits for an awesome friend of mine. Devon is one of the coolest chics I’ve met since moving up here to the North East from Texas (over 10 years ago! crazy!) and I was so happy for her and her husband when I found out they’d soon be parents. She is actually one of 8 siblings (yes, 8!) , and all of them seem to be equally as kind, welcoming and friendly. One of her sister’s had a baby just a little bit before her, so I was able to do a few pictures of her new baby as well. Not only did I take some pictures of the two shiny newborns, but a couple of the newborns’ cousins also came for the photoshoot. Can you believe the cuteness that abounds in this family? These little one’s parents are all just as beautiful! Next time they’ll have to let me get them in the pictures too.
