Jessie & Art’s Engagement Session at Fifer Orchards – Dover, Delaware

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

Jessie & Art chose Wyoming, Delaware near Dover, for their fall engagement photos. They first mentioned Wyoming Mill Pond, but after driving around the area for a bit, I passed by Fifer Orchards and was quickly excited by all of the beautiful color and sunlight beaming through the exhausted peach trees. I am so thankful to the people at Fifer Orchards for allowing me to shoot these photos on their property.

The setting couldn’t have been a more perfect for the fall backdrop that Jessie & Art were hoping for!

Rebecca & Tim’s Engagement at Rocks State Park – Maryland

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

I feel so lucky that Rebecca and Tim chose Rocks State Park as the location for their engagement photos in early spring of this year. I had never been to this location or even heard of it before Rebecca asked that their photos be taken there. Not only is it gorgeous, but the area is important to Rebecca because she spent a lot of time there when she was younger. In fact, if it weren’t for Rebecca’s efforts, this local treasure wouldn’t be a part of the Maryland State Park system. Rebecca, along with other students in her school, helped fund the purchase of this land by the state, which prevented the area from potentially being turned into a development. Could you imagine this beautiful waterfall becoming a part of some neighborhood’s community property? The waterfall and the nearby “King and Queen Seat” can also be seen in the movie “Tuck Everlasting.”

This was a very adventuresome engagement shoot. We hiked quite a way to get to the falls and in trying to get -below- the falls, we had to cross a tree that had fallen over the river. We even passed a few snakes along the way (I saw -one-… but I know there must have been more!! hah!!)

Remember that I mentioned us crossing the river?? This is how Tim accomplished that feat – by walking across this fallen tree. Rebecca and I crawled (I with my backpack and she with her purse.) Thankfully, there is no photographic evidence of our ever so graceful crossing. ;)
